Dr. Loren Rourke is a board-certified breast cancer surgeon, author, and speaker with over 20 years of experience helping thousands of women navigate breast cancer. She is known for her compassionate yet straightforward approach—blending empathy, humor, and “real talk.” Her mission is to empower patients through education, making complex medical information easier to understand (such as her memorable “grapes and stems” explanation) so women feel informed and confident in their care.
Clinical Expertise
She specializes in advanced breast surgical techniques and comprehensive breast care, including:
- Nipple-sparing and skin-sparing mastectomies
- Hidden scar surgery techniques
- Oncoplastic procedures (combining cancer and plastic surgery techniques for optimal cosmetic results)
- High-risk patient management and benign breast disease care

Current Work & Future Plans

Personal Life
Outside of the operating room and her clinical work, Dr. Rourke is a mother to teenage twins and several pets. She trains for ballroom dance competitions and enjoys cooking, baking, and reading romantic fiction in her spare time.
